Cleaning Time

We will have to build a fort sometime soon with all these cushions

Love these girls. Thanks Bella and Chole!

So here in China it isn’t unusual to move out of an apartment and leave it a complete mess. Our place was so gross from previous owners and I knew it would take a while to get it cleaned up to wear I felt I could walk around without shoes on or let Josh play in the bathroom or even feel like cooking in the kitchen not to mention I didn’t want it to smell like china. The refrigerator smelt so bad I could not even take out a shelf fast enough before gagging and shutting the door. I eventually found some liquid fabric softener to put in it to help with the smell enough that I could leave the door open and clean it. So for the first 2 nights as soon as Josh would fall asleep Spencer and I would clean as much as we could. The kitchen was one big room of caked on grease and dirt and the bathroom was moldy. I really enjoy cleaning so I was up for the task but only being able to do it a couple of hours each night would have taken forever. Luckily the cute young women in our branch offered to help conveniently they both live below us on floor 17 and are sisters. So they came over one Saturday afternoon and we got it all done. They even had a vacuum and pine-sole for the floors. The house felt more like a home after that and we were all much more comfortable. I’m so grateful for their help. And there sweet mother has made us dinners like 3 times!

  1. I will have you all know the liquid fabric softener was my idea. We left that open container in there over night and it worked better than baking soda!
