Streeter Update

We have been in china for over 2 months now. I think my favorite thing right now is hoping on that scooter at night and riding around the city. China becomes a whole new china at night time and I love it. Update on us…We now both have callings Spencer is the Sunday School President and I am the Relief Society Secretary and because we are in a small branch this summer for July and Aug our church block goes down to only 2 hours on Sunday. Josh is doing good and I’m trying to teach him what little Chinese I know. Because I don’t have time for a tutor right now I practice a lot outside with the friends I have made. Today we were out at lunch and there was a little girl there and I practiced my head shoulders knees and toes with her in Chinese and then sang it in English, she loved it and so did the crowd I gathered. Spencer mostly just works a 9-5 day the group coming over in aug is around 80 people which is huge for China Horizons so he has been busy and probably will be until then and probably afterwards too. I have three 5 year old girls that I tutor two times a week. I’m definitely over paid as a tutor but I’m not complaining the extra money is nice. Spencer hopefully will have a Chinese tutor by the end of this week. His name is Black I have mentioned him on the blog before we asked him how he got his awesome name and he said Harry Potter  Josh is really into hide and seek, any kind of ball, he loves veggie tales, and blue’s clues. He loves money he always has a penny in each hand and one in his pocket. He can’t fall asleep without a handful of my hair in his hands. I don’t know how this started but he has been doing it for a few months now. He will be snuggling Spencer ready to doze off and reach up for some hair and if he can’t find it he gets up to look for me. He gets up out of bed by himself now and comes into our room to get in bed which I think is so cute. Josh sleeps from about 10pm to 6 or 7 then naps from 2-5 then sleeps again from 10-6. He is such a fun little boy to have around and is so obedient and happy and good. He knows what he likes and doesn’t like. He comes and grabs my hand to take me to whatever he needs and when I get pulled to the laptop I have to guess what he wants to watch if I don’t get it the first time he will say No until I try again if it is wrong he says No until I get it right. Other than that we are just here living every day.
