Playing @ IKEA

Tuesday my friend Teresa invited Josh and I on a play date to IKEA. I was a little confused at first when she explained that she will take her daughter there to play. I don't know if this is a China thing or an IKEA thing but there were seriously 100 kids there just playing at the displays or on the furniture. (牛牛) Niu niu, the little girl loved playing up at the sinks in the bathrooms and sitting at the tables in the kitchens. Josh liked checking out the floor rugs (poor kid misses carpet) and all the pillows. Anyways we played for about 3 hours and of course had lunch.

Notice the ball. Some kids have a stuff animal, some a binki,  maybe a toy or a lego but with Josh it is always a ball. He even found one for sale at IKEA and had to carry it around. I only mention this because trying to leave the house is so complicated for Josh. I say "lets go" and he says "ball". I say get your shoes and he runs and gets a ball. Not just one ball but at least 4 balls are sitting by the front door waiting to leave with us by the time we go. It takes him forever to realize he can only take one ball and he only realizes it because I am carrying him out the door crying with only one ball. So, then we have to open the door so he can say bye to all the other balls left behind. Then after that he's fine :) Its really cute and funny but also a pain.

So cute. Nui nui was playing house the whole time :)

I should have just bought him this timer. It was only a dollar.
He carried it around the whole time.

My conclusion is I really like IKEA and for so many reasons. As silly as it sounds I like the way I feel when I am there. Its familiar, its safe, its comfortable. Here is to many many more play dates to come.
