Random

Nothing to exciting this past week, other than me being deathly ill. Spencer bought some lunch Wednesday and I ate it, while he had planned to save his for the next day. I got so sick, food poisoning is awful. I was barfing, and nausea (I thought, now I know how grandma McDonald always feels). I couldn't keep anything in, and was getting dehydrated, Spencer did such a good job taking care of Josh, and getting him to school, and church…Maybe we could handle getting pregnant again? Luckily, I was fine by mid- Monday but I am definitely off street food for a while.

Yeah homemade Pizza!

Because I was so sick, and the weather was not every good, we spent Friday night building Josh a cardboard house out of extra boxes we had around. He loves it
There are 5 windows to open and shut and Josh loves it.

Spencer is such a fun dad building an awesome House

His first purchase for his new house was a flat screen TV

For Halloween we wanted to watch Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin with Josh. And he loved it. So we also found twoThanksgiving ones and the Christmas episode which we rotate through every day at our house. He loves Snoopy, and Lucy, but his favorite character is Linus!  It’s really cute to hear him say his name. On one of the shows Charlie Brown does a happy dance and Josh thinks that is the funniest thing ever. And makes me and Spencer dance when they do it on the show.

Josh knows both mine and Spencer's name and will often times just call me Tawny. Which I think is cute.

Josh’s favorite thing to do is jump on our bed. He loves loves loves to wrestle Spencer, and is still getting better and better at basketball. He can do some far shots now and we practice every day.

He is doing good at school. It is still hard to drop him off because I will be holding him and he will start to cry and say “mommy miss you, Josh miss mommy.” And while crying he will just lean over to his teacher, -like ok I have to go to you-. It breaks my heart but he is learning Chinese. His teacher sent him a progress report that said he understands directions she gives in class and he is adjusting well. He doesn't have any signs of stress, or anxiety about school when we talk about it or the night before, he behaves normal and when we pick him up he is happy and says he had fun and will tell us what he did. I've noticed he is even a little nicer to Chinese people when we are out. Josh speaks really really well so I can communicate with him and talk to him about his feelings. Today for example we went to a friend’s house to play and when we got there Josh said “mommy I’m nervous” and I said “why” he said “Pirate get me” so he remembered going to his friends for Halloween and his older brother was dressed up like a pirate and Josh was so scared. Also, now that Josh knows how to pray, I taught him that he can pray at honey baby when he is missing me and Heavenly Father will comfort him. He liked that idea.

Josh is such a good kid, rarely he will have a big fit and cry and everything, but today on the Metro he screamed and cried for 4 stops he wouldn’t even listen to me, or quiet down for a second, he didn't want anything to drink, I even offered treats. I was so frustrated with him, he was tired and wouldn't snuggle me, he just wanted to lay on the ground so finally I just let him sit on the ground like he wanted which is dirty and dangerous, sometimes the metro jerks to a stop or speeds up and he could fall and there were lots of people. But I put him down and he immediately stopped crying and sat there falling asleep. Everyone was saying he is tired, he is sleepy, but he didn’t want me to touch him so he fell asleep then I picked him up and held him. Everyone thought he was so cute just sitting there.

  1. I love the flat screen-that's hilarious. And I think it's kinda funny that you think it's cute Josh calls you by your first name because, if I remember correctly, you used to call mom and dad by their first names as well-I was always so scandalized by that :). And that's pretty darn awesome Josh is mature enough to recognize he can pray for comfort. You guys are such good parents.

  2. Oh Tawny, you forgot to mention that when Josh watches the Thanksgiving Charlie Brown show there is a point where they all get in a car to go to his Grandmas house (or something like that) and EVERY TIME Josh says 'Josh get in car?'. Some times he whines and gets pretty bummed out that he cannot get in Charlie Browns car. It's so random that he wants to get in the car with them. It is probably just because he wants to hang out with Linus.

  3. You guys are so fun. I am sorry you were so sick. Food poisoning is the worst. We haven't watched Charlie Brown since Benjamin was a baby. We should probably give it another try.
